Two Point Studios purchased by Sega

As reported earlier today on gamesindustry.biz, Two Point Studios, developers of Two Point Hospital, have been purchased by Sega. The Farnham, UK based studio was founded in 2016 with Two Point Hospital being their first released title. It was met with rave reviews and has sold very well for the studio.

The original idea for the studio was to create a series of simulation games all taking place in a fictional Two Point County. Sega has said there are more unannounced projects being worked on by Two Point so it's likely we'll see another quirky simulation game in the future.

It's not clear what this means for Linux support going forward. Two Point Hospital was already published by Sega with Linux support so it's likely that their next title will also be on Linux. Sega seems to be indifferent to their developers supporting Linux. Sometimes they even appear to actively encourage it with most of the games in the Total War series being ported two Linux by Feral Interactive.
