Linux Game Network turns 1 year old

LinuxGameNetwork logo
One year ago today, Linux Game Network officially had its inaugural post. It's been quite a year sharing Linux gaming with everybody and I hope to continue that into the future.

Linux Game Network began as a reason to improve my little side-project bittyblog. Of course I needed something to write about; Linux and video games were a natural fit as I'm passionate about both.

I learned that it's a surprising amount of work curating stories and writing articles. Even small posts can take quite some time to double-check facts, writing style, and grammar. And I'm sorry for any missing words or spelling mistakes that may have slipped by, working without an editor can be difficult.

Thankfully, Linux Game Network has grown more than I expected over the past year and I appreciate everybody that took the time to stop by the website. Thank you!

Celebrate in Minecraft

As a little celebration, the LGN Minecraft server is up and running again for at least a week. I'll be on Friday evening European time and throughout the weekend and I'd like to meet some of you there!

It'll be running the latest 20w16a snapshot with the new Nether update. Server access is based on a whitelist, so please pop into the LGN Discord with your Minecraft user name to get access. Or just pop in to say hello, it would be greatly appreciated!

Server details below:
  • host: minecraft.linuxgame.net
  • version: Minecraft 20w16a (snapshot)
  • game mode: Survival - normal difficulty

Contributors

I'm looking for a potential contributor to the site that can talk more authoritatively about strategy, sim, and city building type games (Total War, Surviving Mars, Two Point Hospital, etc.). These are really not my forte when it comes to gaming. If you're interested, please get in touch at contact@linuxgame.net

See you in year 2!
