Publisher Nacon buys Daedalic Entertainment

In a press release today, Nacon has announced the purchase of Linux-friendly developer and publisher Daedalic Entertainment. Nacon, newly-formed in 2019 as a subsidiary of Bigben Group, describes themselves as a AA games publisher and gaming accessory maker.

Germany-based Daedalic is best known for their work on adventure titles such as the Deponia series, Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth, and State of Mind, many of which were released natively on Linux.

The sale is for an initial cash amount of 32 million Euros, with a total amount of up to 53 million Euros being based on performance until 2026.

It is currently planned that Nacon will publish Daedalic's upcoming action-adventure title The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Unfortunately, no native Linux support has been announced.

Update: the purchase of Daedalic by Nacon has been completed.
