Deep Silver confirms Metro Exodus is coming to Linux

As many remember from last year, Metro Exodus was mired in a bit of controversy due to Deep Silver's decision to launch exclusively on the Epic Games Store. A year later, the game is finally out on Steam which naturally lead to the question: would Metro Exodus be getting a Linux release like its prequels?

Well, over on the Steam discussion forums, the official Deep Silver account responded to a user's question about Linux support saying, "[w]e are working on it - more news soon".

Great news for those who enjoy the post-apocalyptic FPS action of the Metro series. However, at this time, no additional information is known about the Linux version or even what its current progress is. With Metro Exodus supporting RTX, it will be interesting if that carries over to Linux as well.

Personally, I enjoyed the prequels quite a bit and am excited to see how things develop on the Linux front for Exodus.

Also, as is unfortunately common with Linux ports, the project could even be scrapped before it sees release. So we'll keep an eye on how things develop.
