Half-Life remake - Black Mesa - is now beta complete

Black Mesa began way back in 2012 as a fan mod of Half-Life 2. Its goal was to recreate the entire Half-Life game using the Source engine. After receiving blessings from Valve in 2015, it then became a standalone early access title on Steam. Development on the game has been slow but steady especially on the final, more complex, areas of Half-Life.

Today a major milestone has been reached and so-called 'Complete Beta' is available for Black Mesa. The game is now playable from beginning to end, although in a beta state. The update can be accessed by selecting the 'public-beta' from the "BETAS" tab of the game's settings on Steam.

A big congratulations to the entire team behind Black Mesa. It's a rare thing to see a fan project, with such a massive scope, reach this far. Let's hope that they can iron out some bugs during the beta and finally make it to a full release.
